Karin Székessy was born 1938 in Essen, germany. She studied photography from 1957 to 1959 in Munich, Germany. Since 1959 she creates photographs with dolls, continued by nude photography (since 1963) and a work correspondance with her husband and painter Paul Wunderlich. Between 1960 and 1966 Székessy worked as a photojournalist for the "Kristall" magazine and was a member of the group "Zeitgenossen" (1962 to 1967). From 1967 to 1969 she taught fashion photography at the art school of Hamburg. Since 1971 Karin Székessy was married to Paul Wunderlich until his death in 2010. Between 1984 and 1987 she created nearly 300 cover photographs for the crime series at the Ullstein publishing house. Székessy live and works in Hamburg and southern france.
